Security Guard Training in Wyoming (Unarmed/Armed)

Wyoming does not currently license security guards. However, some security guards are subject to local law. Contact your local police station or City Clerk’s office to find out requirements. Depending on the company that is hiring they may have basic criteria in order to get hired.

Requirements you may need:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be a United States citizen or legal alien
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • No felony convictions or any crime involving the illegal use of weapons
  • Background check

Armed Guard Requirements:

Wyoming is an open carry state and no specific eligibility or training requirements for armed security guards. However, employers may generally accept national standards. Such standards include:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Have a high school diploma or the equivalent
  • Criminal background check
  • Drug test
