Security Guard Training in Florida (Unarmed/Armed)

In the state of Florida, to be a guard, you will first need to obtain your Class “D” Security Guard License.

Licensing is done by the The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing.

Requirements to be a Security Guard in Florida:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be a citizen or legal resident alien of the U.S.
  • Complete the required security guard training.

Required with Your Application

  • Proof of training.
  • A passport photo.
  • Fingerprint card provided by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Required Training:

Before you can even apply, you must first complete a minimum of 40 hours of professional training by a Security Officer School.

There is a $45 licensing fee.
